Lopesan Costa Bavaro
We stayed in Punta Cana at Lopesan Bavaro Spa Resort for Spring Break. My first impression of the resort was that it was a big property with lots of things to do. As soon as you walk in they give you a welcome drink of champagne for the adults and a sprite with juice for kids. Almost all the staff at the resort speak Spanish so if you know Spanish than you have a good advantage at the resort. We ended up switching our room three times and the views from all of the rooms were great. Two of the rooms had ocean views. The ocean was very blue and had a little bit of seaweed.
At the beach they provide towels and drinks and the water is pretty calm. If you get the Unique Club add on there are two private pools as well as a separate beach space for you to enjoy. There is also an infinity pool that is for all guests at the resort. There are some rooms that have swim up pools that you share with the other guests. I would recommend that you get up a little early so that you can get a good seat at both the pool and the beach since they fill up quickly.
Lopesan Costa Bavaro has many activities for you to do while you are staying at the resort such as a candy shop filled with all your favorite sweets. Also there is The Boulevard which is the shopping center of the resort. They have a bowling alley that also includes an arcade where me and my Dad played the clown game and won a lot of tickets which will get you prizes. They also have a gym that is located at The Boulevard. I would not bring any young children to workout with you but would recommend bringing your teenagers. I worked out two of the seven days that we were at the resort. The gym was very nice! After we went to the gym we would go to the Coffee Shop to get a coffee or a juice.
They do have a Teen Club at the resort but there was no teens in there during the day except for at night when the parents go out to dinner. The resort includes a waterpark which is located at the back of the resort. The slides are fun! There are limited seats so I would get there when it opens at 10 am. There were a lot of little kids but it is also good for adults and teens. If you get hot there is an ice cream shop nearby filled with all the different flavors of ice cream.
Our dining experience at the hotel was great. We went to five of the a la carte dinners which were Mexican, French, Italian, Mediterranean, and Asian. There were also buffets at the resort. There were two for all guests and one for Unique Club guests. The Unique buffet was great. For breakfast they serve omelets and eggs of any style as well as fresh fruit, pancakes, and waffles. At lunch they serve BBQ as well as salads and lobster. They also have a man that makes rolled ice cream. The Mexican restaurant served a carrot cake that had a chocolate dome that they pour warm chocolate over to melt the dome. I highly recommend it!
The French restaurant had a good atmosphere but I didn’t love the food. The Italian Restaurant was really good. I got the lasagna and switched with my Dad for his parmesan chicken. The Mediterranean place place was okay but it took an hour to get our food. The Asian place was my favorite. They serve hibachi and the guy was so funny and the food was really good. We ordered a desert from room service every night and they were all really good. For Easter we ordered almost everything on the menu from Room Service and stayed in and watched Outer Banks.
Overall I really enjoyed the waterpark, the beautiful beach, and the resort activities. There was plenty to do even though we didn’t leave the resort all week. There was also a variety of foods to eat and the ocean views from our rooms were all beautiful. It was a very relaxing Spring Break.
